This is actually very serious. Please stop what you’re doing and consider that while some people do abuse God’s word and take Scripture out of context to use it for abuse, all of Scripture is still completely true. God is not a liar. If you don’t believe all of it then what’s the point in believing any of it? You can’t pick and choose which parts are true and which aren’t. Praying for you OP. 💙
Maybe instead of taking white out to what is held very close to many people why not just copy the words you pick and choose to a different paper, perhaps in your own book?
And maybe the old testament when not studied especially in the right translations of the bible to man would seem perhaps harsh or unjustified but there in reality is no unjust punishment dealt by God which is much more clear when the bible is read in the original translations which can be found easily online blb.org and aside from that the book of proverbs alone which is a book written mostly by a rather “intelligent” man, to say the least, literally entirely a basic guideline to life teaches nothing but to be loving, understanding and forgiving to others unconditionally and Jesus himself taught these things later in the gospel. So to say it isn’t kind or honest makes little sense.
